(As Skype has also started calling, so does't make much sense to start it, no core competency)

Global Battle 2011 - Ideas

Ideas that I liked

1. Football Star - Idea for emerging players for football clubs. Such a site could be started for Cricket where emerging players are connected to clubs.

2. Services4me.com - This is a similar concept as in BPO for individuals concept.

3. Speak League - Nice concept for niche market. Where ppl who wants to learn foreign language can learn by connecting people on facebook.

4. Troppedin.com - Making tweets some sense on twitter.
(awesome concept - twitter should take over this aspect)

Ideas of Aug-Sept(Mid)

Monterrey

1. Youmine - Physical storage as a service.

This is a concept which is also required in Mumbai/Delhi area. 

2. UniBooks - A platform for exchanging books. Creating a virtual library with no inventory cost.

3. Film Industry - A major change is required in film industry. Apart from animation and movies and the big screen. May be something customized where a group of people can go stand alone. Or movies on gadgets or on geographic channel. May be open house comedy in Theatres.

Ideas of July/August - SW

The ideas that I like on the analysis of ideas given below

2. Tweaking of concept in other industry - Case Reportal (Crowd sourcing in medical field)
3. Use of technology for something easy - Remember Me

Jun 28, 2011 – NYC – inbed.me is the world’s first Social Accommodation Booking engine, for young independent travelers, that allow them to see who is going to stay in the hostels & guesthouses listed before they book, and even connect with them after booking a bed. 

(I think something like this can be implemented in Hotel/travel industry)

Cooking DJ is a service that attempts to make cooking fun again. The team calculated that many of us could spend as many as 22 days per year cooking. That’s almost a month, so we should do our best to make that time fun. How do you make cooking fun? The Cooking DJ team proposes that we do that with music.

Game - Start Up Saturday

I believe in Mumbai we need something like Gaming Saturdays. It would be like Start-Up-Saturday but only games would be dealt.

There would be two set of people
1) Gamers - Concept makers
2) Developers

And then others set of ppl
1) Guest Lectures(Gaming Experts)
2) VC/Sponsors

People would be called from start-up community, IIT Bombay, NID and few other creative institutes.
Two days time period would be there for developing the game and executing it by Sunday end. And the final result would be developed.
